AI^alde Sr. Paonual Ma^agall, en I"acte d/ioauguracio- del 3imposi "La veu de la dona en el (11_5leg NordSud" al Salo del 0ooseIl de Cent, Barcelona, 30 de maig de 1988 �Be nvinguda Les doy la binevenida a la ciudad de Barcelona que se siente honrada por la celebración de este Simposium sobre "La veu de la Dona en el dileq Nord-Sud" en el marco de la "CaiipaKa pu-Inca eurropea sobre la Interdependencia y la Solidaridad Norte-Sur", que lleva a cabo el Consejo de Europa. Con este Simp osium Barcelona se incorpora al grupo de grandes ciudades europeas que participan en la camp afia que tiene por objetivo fundamental fomentar la cooperación Norte/Sur. Cuando parece qie la escisión .política-ideolo-gica del mundo en Este y Oeste, traducida en una irracional carrera armamentista, esta dando unos primeros pasos firmes hacia su superac ion, la escisión (economica-," social del mundo en Nory Sur continua siendo la mas ...--dramática fractura de la Humanidad. Le corresponde a Europa tomar iniciativas como esta del Consejo de Europa para iniciar una etapa de cooperación entre el Norte y el Sur que es, a la vez, �' una obligooi o racional y un deber moral. Efectivament, el futur de la humanitat és un sol futur, perc,uè aquest futur s iqui p ossible la humanitat s'ha de comp re ndre i organitzar com a humanitat. Li correspon a Europa fer el primer pas, es un imperatiu moral i un deute històr ic. Per això l'encert d'una campanya que compta entre els seus objectius el propòsit de conscienciar la població europea del gran repte que tenim plantejat com a humanitat en aquest final de segle: el sol futur. Barcelona se suma a la campanva convençuda 1 solidària.
