I BELIEVE THAT THIS EVENT IS A STP AHEAD IN THE WIDE PROMOTION ACTIVITY OF THE BARCELONA CITY COUNCIL FOR SOME REASONS. FIRSTLY, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN ADRESSED TO THE SPECIFIC ECONOMIC AND BUSINESS SECTOR THAT EXISTS IN LONDON ff4 ORDER TO EXPLAIN THE RANGE OF BARCELONA'S CURRENT SPECIFIC OFFERS FN THIS SECTOR: THE LATEST DEVELOPMENTS IN URBAN PLANNING, ARCHITECTURE, DESIGN, TOURISTIC POSSIBILITIES AND FINANCIAL AND LOGISTIC SERVICES. 1 THE BARCELONA BUSINESS WEEK HAS SUPPOSED A SIGNIFICANT CHANGE RESPECT TO THE USUAL AND GENERIC SEMINARIES ON THIS MATTER. YOUR WELCOMING ANSWER TO THIS INITIATIVE HAS SHOWED THAT THIS NEW, RISKY AND MORE DIFFICULT APPROACH4AS BEEN A SUCCESS. IT HAS BEEN A NEW PROOF OF TV E GOOD RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BARCELONA'S PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION¡ AND PRIVATE BUSINESSES THAT HAS DISTINGUISHED BARCELONA DURING THE LAST YEARS. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK AGAIN ALL THE BUSINESSME^1 AND INSTITUTIONS WHICH HAVE ç COLLABORATED IN THIS INITIATIVE, SP ÉCIALLY ALL THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE MOVED TO LONDON TO TAKE PART I1lsT THE DIFFERENT SESSIONS OF THIS WEEK. THIRDLY, THIS WEEK IS NOT A CIR^CUMSTANTIAL EVENT WITHOUT A PROGRAMME OF CONTINUITY LATER ON'}1 FORTUNATELY, ALL THE SECTORIAL CAMPAIGNS THAT HAVE PRESENTED DURING THESE DAYS HAVE ITS OWN ACTION AND PROMOTION PLAN BEING IMPLEMENTED EVERY DAY. THE BARCELONA BUSINESS WEEK HAS MEANT JUST ONE STEP MORE IN THIS CONTINUOS ACTION. A VERY USEFUL MOMENT TO STRENGTHEN CONTACTS WITH PEOPLE FROM GREAT BRITAIN INTÉRESTED IN BARCELONA. NEVERTHELESS, THE MAIN TASK WILL BEGIN NEXT MONDAY TRYING TO TRANSFORM THE RELATIONSHIP AND CONTACTS HERE INICIATED IN BUSINESS OR SPECIFIC PROPOSALS OF COLLABORATION OR EXCHANGE. FINALLY, BECAUSE THIS IS THE FIRST B 1RCELONA WEEK. IN MID FEBRUARY WE WILL HELD ANOTHER ONE IN NEW YORK AND FROM 13TH TO 17TH OF MARCH IN FRANKFURT. THIS NEW INSTRIIJMENT STARTS GONG ON NOW.
