Josep Vicenç Foix *
Amb Josep Vicenç Foix hem perdut un gran barceloní que era,
alhora, un sarrianenc de sempre. Era sarrianenc i era barceloní a
fons. A casa seva, a Sarrià en un aniversari m'ensenyava articles
seus sobre Barcelona. N'hi havia un de molt bonic, de molt
crític, de molt punyent sobre el que ell en deia la
"Barcelonota". Havia estat publicat amb seudònim en una revista
de Sarrià.
Tant em va agradar que vam parlar amb ell i amb el seu
col.laborador literari de fer una edició d'articles de Foix sobre
Barcelona en diverses époques, en diversos moments. Això ha
quedat sense fer, però penso que hauriem de posar-ho en marxa com
a homenatge a Josep Vicenç Foix, el pastisser-poeta o el poetapastisser, com també s'ha dit. Barceloní també perquè tenia no
un, sinò dos oficis, d'aquesta ciutat, que aquesta ciutat ha
desenvolupat a fons a la seva història.
Amb ell he fet tantes coses! Plantar un arbre l'any passat,
ara fa un any tot just, al Carmel. Amb tot de nens d'escoles que
vam fer pujar als Tres Turons de Barcelona: El Carmel, el Turó de
la Peira i el Coll, perquè aquests tres turons bastant pelats
deixessin de ser-ho. Ell va entendre de seguida que això era
important i vam anar a fer aquestes plantacions que no donaran
fruit fins d'aquí a un temps. Però aquí tindrem també en Foíx
present.
Vam anar amb ell als barris. Es va fer aquest muntatge
teatral que va tenir tant d'éxit i a ell li agradava de veure.
Ell hi anava de tant en tant, a veure l'escenificació de la seva
obra. Però potser el dia que recordo més a en Foix va ser el dia
de la inauguració del monument a Picasso al passeig Picasso.
Aquest monument d'en Tàpies, innovador i surrealista, quasi.
Aquest dia jo acabava d'esser anomenat Alcalde i no sabia ben bé
que dir, fins que vaig veure el barret marron d'en Foix que
s'atansava per l'avinguda. Vaig pensar: estem salvats perquè
aquest em dóna la idea del que això és. Ell havia estat un
surrealista, ell havia estat un vanguardista, més concretament.
Un innovador, un home que no s'atenia pas a les regles del seu
moment, sino que les superava. Em va fer pensar que estava molt
bé aquest homenatge que es feia a en Picasso, que era tan poc
Picassià i que era tan poc del Tapies, i que no era de ningü,
sino que era una cosa nova.
En Foix va ser sempre això. Va ser sempre això i espero que
se'l recordarà per aquesta espurna d'innovació, per aquesta
capacitat de somniar els seus somnis, que és inesgotable, que es
tant nostre i que és de vegades tan contradictori amb l'ofici
manual i amb l'ofici de pastisser i amb l'ofici literari de
poeta. I tanmateix ell en tenia. Tenia ofici, , però també tenia
imaginació. En aquest sentit és un gran barceloní.

S'adjunta el text del telegrama enviat pel Col.legi de Periodistes de Catalunya en protesta per l'assassinat del periodista xilè
José Carrasco.
Demanen a l'Alcalde , si li sembla pertinent, que en faci
menció durant la seva intervenció, perque temen que la difussió
de la notícia sigui molt limitada.
Ha dit el Sr. Jordi Borja que li semblava que, tractan-se
d'un barri de forta inmigració, era millor fer el discurs en castellà. No obstant, seria bo potser fer algun tros en català.

Nota de premsa a l'atenció del Director, amb prec de publicació,
cursada en el dia d'avui, als mitjans informatius
El Col.legi de Periodistes de Catalunya manifesta la seva indignació per
l'assassinat del periodista José Carrasco per part d'agents al servei del
régim del General Pinochet i considera que es tracta d'un gravíssim atac a
la professió periodística í al dret fonamental de la llibertat d'expressió.
En aquest sentit, el Col.legi de Periodistes de Catalunya ha enviat un
telegrama de condol i solidaritat al Col.legi de Periodistes de Xile, a la
Junta del qual pertanyia el periodista José Carrasco, i ha tramés també.
sengles telegrames a l'Ambaixada xilena a Madrid i al Consolat xilé de
Barcelona tot condemnant enérgicament aquest assassinat i fent vots pel
restabliment de la democràcia a Xile.

más enérgica repulsa por este hecho que representa un gravísimo ataque
a la profesión periodística

al derecho fundamental de la persona-a ex
presarse en libertad. Manifestamos también nuestro deseo de un pronto
restablecimiento de las libertades democráticas en Chile.
