Así podríamos seguir indefinidamente, pero ese estribillo suele esconder una inquietante ausencia de opciones y de mensaje. En estas elecciones, al final, se nos ha impuesto la ausencia de debate cara a cara. Ni siquiera podernos optar entre las personas. NI siquiera podemos apreciar por nosotros mismos las opciones que ofrecen el gobernantey el aspirante, el uno frente al otro. Analicemos la cuestión y veamos "qué voto" y "para qué votar". La mala razón de Estado - la que hace abuso de la razón y deviene arrogancia o insolencia del poder - es doblemente mala, dijo Tomás y Valiente hablando del contraterrorismo y la corrupción: mala cuando se usa, mala cuando se denuncia, si esa denuncia es tardía y no es para suprimir aquella sinrazón, sino para ganar el poder al precio que sea. Inclusive al precio de dar alas a los que combaten contra la democracia. Ese es el dilema ante el que nos encontramos. Aceptar el esfuerzo que hizo el Gobierno para terminar con la mala razón de Estado, cuando lo hizo, o acoger todas las miserias y los miserables que ese esfuerzo ha puesto al descubierto para convertirlos en víctimas del Gobierno que los puso en su sitio, y a la vez condenar por ello al propio Gobierno. ¿Hemos de dar por buenas las cambiantes opiniones de los medios (y de los políticos) que jaleaban la mala razón de Estado para perseguir terroristas en Francia, y hoy piden cárcel no para los que siguieron sus consejos - y están en ella - si no para los políticos de quienes dependían, que es de lo que se trata? ¿Olvidar sin excusa alguna que se logró hacer dimitir al vicepresidente del Gobierno acusándole de dos affiiires, el Informe Crillón y los escuchas del CESID, que la justicia ha archivado? Es más: ¿Hemos de olvidar el esfuerzo de la Moncloa por terminar con los dos casos más claros de intromisión financiera en el dominio de los medios de comunicación y finalmente en la instrumentalización de la política y los políticos en beneficio propio? Todo esto ¿es algo que debamos olvidar o pasar por alto? ¿Se puede ser neutral en estos temas? No lo creo. No creo que se pueda decir "entré estas fechorías pasadas y determinados temores futuros lo mejor es no optar". Hay que elegir. Hay que optar entre la asunción �más o menos tardía de errores - incluso de los no cometidos pero sospechados - con renuncia efectiva de los responsables políticos (no está mal: Solchaga, Asunción, Corcuera, Albero, García Vargas, Serra....) o bien la apuesta por un pase de página montado sobre la ola del escándalo provocado por la propia asunción de esos errores, jaleada por una serie de poderosos personajes„ interesados en convertirla en depuración de los que intentaron poner coto a sus pretensiones desmesuradas. No creo tampoco que pueda decirse: "qué simples son estos, y qué simples los otros". Aquí los únicos que no son simples, y sí listos, son los que al abrigo de esa fratricida controversia no sobre los temas de la política, si no sobre las intenciones políticas y la decencia de las personas, hacen su agosto o piensan aliviar su invierno y sus penas. A costa de la democracia. El terrorismo se beneficia de todo ello. Esas son la segunda y la tercera perversión que exponía Tomás y Valiente en su artículo póstumo: la fragmentación de la política y, como consecuencia, el abandono de la calle, la pérdida de la paz civil, el fracaso del Estado como garantía. Tampoco les ha ido mal a los que han soplado los fogones de la lucha fratricida, o a los que se han lucrado en algún momento de la falta de consenso, por ejemplo en el nombramiento de decisivos cargos judiciales, o a los que bajo esos grandes escándalos han escondido los suyos, pidiendo sosiego para; ocultar vergüenzas propias. La ausencia de mensaje no es aceptable. Hay que optar, hay que mojarse. Todas las opciones son buenas si no eluden las cuestiones fundamentales. ¿Se puede argumentar que lo primero es que los políticos bajo cuyo gobierno sucedieron "todas estas cosas" dejen paso a otros, inmaculados y dispuestos a arreglarlas? No es tan sencillo. "Todas estas cosas" son también la reforma del ejército, la de la industria pesada, la de las pensiones, la entrada de España en Europa por la puerta grande, la creación de las condiciones para que haya un millón más de puestos de trabajo (aun manteniendo el número de parados, una vez censados los dos millones de nuevos buscadores de trabajo por la entrada ¡por fin! de la mujer en ese mercado), la multiplicación de los universitarios y becarios, el acceso de todos a la sanidad, el traslado de un 20 por ciento del gasto público desde el centro a las autonomías - cosa que en Alemania necesitó previamente de una derrota bélica del Estado y que Francia y Gran Bretaña aún no han acometido- , la transformación de nuestras ciudades, etc... Bueno, también se puede decir que, hecho esto, pasen los otros y hagan otras cosas. Pues eso: ¿qué cosas? Aquí es donde falla el cálculo de los centristas, de los que no son "ximples". Porque para convencernos de que dejemos de votar a la izquierda que ha hecho "todo esto", con sus costes y su lado sombrío, nos ofrecen: 1- Una total ausencia de noticias sobre las cosas que pasarían si ganara la derecha: simplemente que la izquierda podría regenerarse fuera del gobierno. �2- Una oferta de voto centrista o nacionalista que de algún modo reúne lo peor de los dos mundos: el lado sombrío de todo gobierno (sólo que en proporción a sus responsabilidades, aunque yo creo que en esto han sobresalido un tanto) y ni una sola apuesta de futuro concreto (reparto del tiempo de trabajo, conexión Barcelona/Europa, deltas del Llobregat y del Besós, Plan de Metros, vivienda... Nada). Ese sí que es un voto tontaina. ¿Para qué? ¿Para quién? PASQUAL MARAGALL Alcalde de Barcelona ��¿Ximples? ¿Majaderos? ¿Qué bonito es ser neutral! ¿Qué bello es el centro! ¿Qué mentecatos son los que no están en él! Así podríamos seguir indefinidamente, si no fuera porque ese estribillo suele esconder una ausencia total de mensaje. Analicemos el asunto.
