Al dia siguiente fui a Madrid, invitado por la Asociación de Periodistas Europeos que drtgen Cándido y Mgusl Ángel AguHar, y por el Círculo de Debates que conducen Javier Gómez Nevara, Miguel Muntz y Alfredo Tejera, para participaren un par de coloquios. Algunos de los asistentes llevaban el articulo recortado en el bolsillo. Pensé que les había parecido bien. Pues no. Bueno: si parecía bien, lo fue sin efectos apreciables. En Madrid el tema era el "parar por el tubo" de Pujol, y después seria el catalán de loe obispos (y de los rectores), y mañana cualquier gesto de los que la derecha catalana mayorltarla se ve obligada a hacer para que se le perdone el pacto con el PP. De modo que la sugerencia de mi articulo parece que caerá en saco roto. En él invitaba a aplaudr el reconocimiento de la plmnadonaJidad del Estado que está haciendo la derecha española, y pedía al mismo tiempo que le izquierda española, tradkáonalmente más federal y autonomista que la derecha, dé un paso adelante-no un paso atrás-en la configuración del federalismo diferencial permitido por la Constitución. La gente prefiere un buen enemigo a un amigo complicado. Basta con que désele Catalunya se pronuncien, a intervalos convenientes, un par de frases de desamor o recelo para tener garantizada la ccNTespondencia. España se cierra como un caracol tocado en la antena. Y a la inversa. Encerrados sistemáticamente con el único juguete de las relaciones entre el poder estatal y el autonómico se renuncia al gran debate que incomoda a unos y a otros: el de la configuración del Estado desde las premisas de la subsidíaridad. Us demano excuses perquè no va poder ser factible i possible el dia que havíem quedat que ens veiéssim. Ja tenia ganes que arribés aquest dia i poder-vos demanar excuses per això, però va haver-hi alguna desgràcia que ho va impedir. En tot cas, sigueu benvinguts en aquesta casa, que és la vostra. És la casa de tots els catalans i les catalanes, independentment de la seva orientació sexual, ideològica o política. Vull felicitar en primer lloc a totes les entitats aquí representades pel conjunt d'activitats que heu realitzat enguany, en especial amb motiu de l'Orgull d'aquest any. Crec que hi ha un compromís per part vostra, que hi ha una constància important, que ha fet possibles activitats de reivindicació arreu de Catalunya. Si no m'erro, han estat com a mínim a les Terres de l'Ebre, a Reus i al Camp de Tarragona, Vilafranca, Girona, Lleida, una mica per tot. Aquest programa vostre consolida l'activisme i la presència d'entitats en favor dels drets dels gais, lesbianes i transsexuals, més enllà de l'àmbit metropolità de Barcelona estricte, on s'havia expressat de manera preferent fins ara. I us vull felicitar també, i especialment a l'entitat Panteres Grogues, per la consecució de l'Eurogames de l'any vinent. Vull aprofitar per recordar que enguany celebren el seu aniversari una colla d'entitats que vull esmentar: la fundació F.A.G.C., Front d'Alliberament Gai de Catalunya, trenta anys, per molts anys; el Casal Lambda, trenta anys, per molts anys; la Coordinadora Gai-Lesbiana, vint anys, per molts anys també. S'ha avançat en el camí de l'abolició d'una desigualtat que ens limitava com a societat i com a col·lectiu. Crec que els drets aconseguits ens fan més iguals. A mi no m'entusiasma parlar de la paraula lluita perquè considero que la lluita és allò que es fa quan s'està molt lluny de la victòria, i vosaltres hi esteu i nosaltres hi estem més a prop. I per tant, ara això ja no és una lluita, és un dret que s'exerceix, perquè la llei l'ha reconegut. Els drets aconseguits també ens fan més responsables, evidentment, dels deures que ens corresponen. Durant aquests anys s'ha assolit la plena equiparació legal, i això és important. La fi de la discriminació jurídica que patien els gais, les lesbianes i els transsexuals, i això és important. Ara fa un any, les Corts Generals van adoptar les reformes legals del Codi Civil que van permetre un avenç important en aquesta línia, i concretament en el matrimoni entre persones del mateix sexe i l'adopció conjunta. En l'actualitat, s'està tramitant al Congrés de Diputats la Llei d'Identitat de Gènere, que suposarà, vosaltres ho sabeu millor que ningú, la fi de discriminacions i de situacions de menyspreu i humiliacions cap als homes i dones transsexuals. I quant al nou Estatut d'autonomia, recull: primer, la prohibició de qualsevol forma de discriminació per motius d'orientació sexual (art 40.7); i segon, l'obligació dels poders públics de treballar per l'eradicació de qualsevol forma d'odi o incitació a la violència contra aquest col·lectiu (art.40.8). El Govern de la Generalitat és doncs conscient de la realitat amb la qual ens hem d'enfrontar i té pràcticament enllestit el Pla interdepartamental per a la no-discriminació de persones homosexuals i transsexuals. Aquest Pla deixarà fixats els objectius i l'Acció de Govern per a la propera legislatura i per al futur, per sempre. Consolidarem així el canvi al qual ens vam comprometre. I m'atreveixo a preveure que ningú podrà tirar endarrere aquest canvi. Canvi que adquirirà plena significació en el marc del projecte de reforma social global que hem desplegat a tot Catalunya. Aquest avenç en matèria de drets civils no és menor, no pertany només a una minoria. No és només vostre, és nostre, és de tots. És el triomf de tots. Sense el vostre compromís és evident que no s'hauria aconseguit. Us en dono les gràcies perquè és el triomf, en el fons, de la llibertat política.
